Entry Rojak + Miracle Happens?

Malaysia got the first gold medal already!!! (or probably by now has added some more..)

I watched Magika last Sunday. Has always been a supporter to KRU bro's work (I wish Yusry is reading this..hahaha..) Not bad for a musical. Though I think some of the character is a bit over the top, but then again for musical is always like that right? But in the spirit of supporting Malaysian product, I am willing to bet my money on KRU's stuffs anytime over some Prof's work. Definitely worth it ;)

Some thing happen at work which I think is a miracle. You see, we have this pit stop planned starting yesterday till Wednesday. One of my scope is to do job A. For this job we need item B,C,D and E. We have all of them but quantity is not enough, and the worst part is item E, the main thing is not up to spec. So in order to get E up to spec we have to many things that will delay the work, and most likely not possible to do still. If we live without item E, we will incur loss come Q1 2011. Somehow miracle work its way, and warehouse people found item F, which is up to spec as item E but only smaller size, we decided to proceed with it anyway. Better than nothing. I am really hoping things work out well. Have to spend another night in control room...

They Really Chose Not to See It..

I am watching NCIS DC now. Contiued from the last week episode where it stops after DiNozzo shot Ziva's Mossad bf. They put it in the damn TV series and explain really well how Americans feel about their lifelong counterpart, the Israel. TV in some ways reflects the reality, and this one really does.

• NCIS knew that Rivkin shot their agent without a strong basis, yet the best they can do is ask him to leave the states.
• Gibbs knew that Ziva witheld information that causes a US agent to be killed, but he still trust her anyway.

Bottom line, American government realised what Isreal is doing is bad, really bad but they chose to let it slip. I really could not comprehend what power the Israel had (and still have) over the US until they are so scared to stand up what is right to humanity in general, and to the point that they went all out to protect their alliances with the Zionist. Seriously I am baffled.

TV imitates reality and yet I could not get the logic.

Why Malaysia Lost to Japan?

I have always liked watching live sports on TV. I played badminton in primary school. Takat rules and regulation 10-20 years back, I was really well versed. And yesterday, in the midst of Thomas Cup madness, I sort of switching back and forth in between Channel 801, 811 and the rest (711, 701, 708...etc,etc...) just to keep up to date with all the hype and happening.


As we know both teams lost (Uber & Thomas) but the mens' team really irks me. They lost will little dignity as they walked out of the court. Based on my personal analysis, one single root cause, the biggest one in fact....see whether it makes sense ;p


They lost because they played badly. The played badly because the did not think Japan is a good team. They think Japan is not a good team because they always thought that they are much better. They thought they are much better, evident obviously by how they dressed. You see that sleeveless shirt that they were wearing? They think by showing off the almost nonexistent triceps can actually up their game huh? And with that shirt, they proudly walk into the court thinking, 'Hey, I look good, my muscles are potruding, these Japs are going down...' Boy were they wrong!!!


These are actually what I thought was going through the mind of the second doubles when they were playing really BADLY.


My real salute goes to Sonia Cheah sister of Lydia Cheah. She really did put up a good fight. And she had good skills too. The only thing missing from her is international experience, but even then she really entertains the crowd. Hope to see more of her and her spirit in the mens team, seriously...

Blasphemy Most Foul

I received this via mail last week, but only decided to put it up after the recent attack on 3 churches in KL-S'ngor. Not only that, the government has granted RM 500K to help rebuild the church!!!

And what do we Muslims get in return? More bad names and more violence act added to our resume.

This all originated from the grant of using Allah's name given to Herald Wekly, and obviously government is way too late in doing the damage control. Many angry Muslims are roaming the streets and the one that could not control their anger resorts to all the acts just to prove their point.

Blasphemy Most Foul

In the days leading to the decision of the case brought by the Titular Roman Catholic Archbishop applying to use the word Allah in the Malay version of the bible, the Muslim community sat muted whilst being schooled by the non Muslims on their own religion. At the helm of this muted movement were politicians including their ulamas, political alliances and Muslim intellectuals who all agreed that it is permissible for the use of the word Allah in the Catholic weekly Herald publication.

The first effect that we shall see from the decision of the Kuala Lumpur High Court dated 31.12.2009 allowing the Church to use the word Allah in their Malay language publication is the birth of Allah’s son. From now onwards, the Christian God in this new publication shall be referred to as “Allah” and Jesus Christ as “Anak Allah”.

The Muslim calendar, ie the Maal Hijrah for the year 1431 shall be well remembered by all Malaysians as the year where the trinity of Allah accompanied by “Anak Allah” shall be celebrated in the books of the Christians in the mother tongue of the largely Malay muslim populace and marked by the lunar eclipse event.

In Surah Al Ikhlas, verse 1-4, Allah says ‘ Say: He is Allah, the One and Only; 2. Allah, the Eternal, Absolute. 3. He begets not, nor is he begotten; 4. And there is none like unto Him.

For the unlettered and unschooled in Islam, verse 3 simply means that Allah “does not give birth”, nor is “Allah given birth to”. It is incumbent for all Muslims, both lettered and unlettered, to uphold the sanctity of the concept of monotheism in Islam and never to allow Allah to be portrayed as having the attributes of a human being, the ability to beget a Son of which the echelons of the political community using Islam as their brand name in Malaysia have so easily facilitated and consented.

Those responsible for allowing this event to take place shall have to answer in their graves and in the hereafter for committing the greatest of all sins, “shirk” or polytheism of the highest degree. No argument can justify the usage of “Allah” and “Anak Allah” in any kitab here; yet those in a position to prevent this occurrence has shamelessly come to the defence of The weekly Herald to teach us how to pray to our ONE GOD.

What is the rationale for using the word “Allah” in the Christian books and how does this promote racial integration or even “One Malaysia”? If anything, this event draws the divide between the races even more. It is a deep shame that we have to live with for the rest of our lives, losing a battle that need not have been fought at all. It is not the fault of the Titular Roman Catholic Archbishop that we lost our pride and identity, we are our own doing. The pride of our community today fell due to treachery by those who fought and won political battles using the name of Islam. In the Quran, Allah warns us most of all against people who sell their religion. Allah says in the Quran, “..do not sell my religion for a paltry sum..”. In this case before us, the situation involved is even worst, they sold their religion for free.

Shaken

Yesterday we had a very heavy downpour in PD. Its started in the afternoon, very heavy rain followed by thunder.

I was waiting for the rain to ease down so that I can go back but untill 6.30 nothing much changed, so I decided to go back after all. Along my way back there were few places that the water level risen quite high, some almost to 1 ft.

I get onto the main road leading to my house only to realise that water has risen way too high and I could not turn anywhere as everywhere was filled with water. The road was flooded. There was another car in front of me, I shifted to gear 2 and I saw 3 cars stalled along the road. I was praying so hard that I will not be one of it. I can see streaks of lightning at the same time. Both of my knees were shaken, I was very nervous, I tried balancing on the accelarator and clutch. Finally I get to the safe area, but my knees just wont stop shaking.

I made it to home safely. This morning I turned on the engine, press the clutch, and I could get into gear 1. I know something is wrong somewhere, I turned off the engine. Damn...how am I supposed to go to work if I could not even get to gear 1?

I tried playing with the gear with the engine off, it moved just fine. So I decided to press the clutch, shift to gear 1 and start the engine. The car jerks a bit, but at least it can start. I have actually bypassed the system, not a good way to start the morning, the exhaust was emitting white smoke, which I have never seen before. I figured something is wrong with either my clutch of anything, I don't know about engine, but I guessed this is the after effect of driving through the almost 2ft deep water.

Managed to get to office but I have to spend time to get my car checked. Not sure if I get off fine this time.

090909- UPSR leave + iftar @ UIA

Taking the opportunity due to the date ;) On my second day leave for UPSR (not that I'm taking it ;p , just that I felt obliged to 'babysit' my youngest sis during this 3 days now that mom is in SP).

I was asked by Dr K to join him and gang for Career talk + iftar in UIA today and since am already in KL, I agreed. During which the topic of taraweeh in PD came about. Yup, PD is strange, when I first did the taraweeh there, I felt something wrong somewhere, it turns out that they did 10+3 , also no familiar zikir in between solat that I used to back in KL. I have only tried 2 places in PD, its the same, so I figured it must be the PD thing.

A colleague points out that if you want to have 'normal' taraweeh as in KL, go to the army camp mosque, they did the standard ones.Well that must have been because the soldiers are not local, they came from all over.

When I first experienced the 10 rakaat taraweeh, I was doubting myself, I thought I counted right but how come we are still not doing witir? Well, D&I , diversity and inclusiveness, and after 3 years in PD I sort of embraced it. But I still like the long witir in between the two rakaat, brings back old memories in uni, back when I have my favorite bilal.

Enough about taraweeh, I actually enjoyed this few days sending and picking my sis to and from school, then planning what to cook for iftar,and shop for home stuffs. I so want to quit working and be a homemaker, tapi bilakah? No can do, if only someone can pay me 5k to stay at home, I would do it in a beat, serious ni...if only!!!

p/s: tomorrow am making meat lasagna....;)

Batuk, selsema, demam, sakit tekak, bila terbesin bunyi tak kuat...

Second Stage
Susah bernafas, simtom macam asthma but not asthma, at this stage if you touch the person, or breath in the same room 80% boleh kena...masa ni kena kuarantin...at hospital. Masalahnya sekarang dah ramai yg kena. hospital tak cukup katil & bilik kuarantin...Bila u pengsan macam nak mati baru dia org admitted.macam kes adik I.

Critical
Lung infection. Bila X ray we can see the virus covered the lung. Like my brother case. Very scary bila tengok x ray tu. At this stage u need oksigen with highest level, Strongest antivral..very high drug. At least 7 days oksigen kena bagi. % to recover depend to age, imune badan u. That's why kalau baby atau budak2 susah nak kata...normally die. My brother hari ni genap 8 hari..still need oksigen. Kesian dia. Masa tahap critical tu tercungap2 dia bernafas, sampai menangis..Sampai satu tahap dia berguling atas simen sbb dah tak tahan...sampai dia give up ..sampai dia blh cakap lebih baik Allah ambik nyawa dia...Itu lelaki tu..imagine kalau pompuan atau budak2. We all cuma blh tengok dia dari cermin...tak blh masuk dlm bilik kuarantin...Dr & nurse aje boleh masuh...siap pakai baju plastik. To support him, what we did bagi sms, bagi dia alquran biar dia baca so that dia tenang, bagi tasbih biar dia zikir ingat Allah & bagi Air yasin...Alhamdulillah pastu dia ok sikit.Ada hikmahnya...All the family member unite to support my brother fighting the virus.

Masalahnya hospital swasta tak terima H1N1 case, sekarang ni semua depend hospital kerajaan yg most of the doctors still young . The oldest dr in my brother ward was 28 years. All the Otai dah pergi private. Lepas tu plak this is the first time to treat H1N1 patient. At the same time dr bz with other case as well...1 doktor 5 patient...kat gov hospital...kesian dr2 tu...berhempas pulas nak selamatkan patient. I appreciate them, mmg very appreciate dia org jaga adik i dgn baik sekali..So far hospital Ampang is the best goverment hospital yg i jumpa..very efficient.Very quick action ..Even senior dia org dah pergi private & they don't have much experience , dia org tetap work hard give the best treatment to the patients..sampai tak balik rumah...tidor kat hospital.

Rasa nak peluk & cium dia org sebab selamatkan adik I...Thanks to Allah

Is it too soon?

Its a bit too far fetch for me, but things that happens lately sort of ticks me to think about this. If you have a child, when would you start to save for his/her furture? My sister just got pregnant and she is the cautious type. She has already started to plan on opening an account for the baby.

But then again, how many of us think of that. Those who are well educated probably have thought about it from day 1. But what happen to those young parents who lack of awareness in this kind of things, or worse those who 'claimed' that they don't have enough to save yet?

Cost of raising a kid nowadays is on increasing trend, let alone the education cost. When people got married and start having kids, are they prepared to bite the bullet when it comes to future planning? Have seen too many bad examples in my family (own and extended) when it comes to the children education and rights for a good life.

For a start, open a saving account. Many choices nowadays, you can opt for private finance body (numerous choices for investment planning). There will be limitations for low income parents to set aside certain amount for the premium. And that is why government set up bodies such as SSPN and ASNB to help low income Malaysian (especially Bumiputera) to start saving/investing for future needs. Many people know this but not many act to what they knew (I am talking about Malay in general). I have friends and family who already have 2-3 kids and none of the kids have any kind of saving or whatsoever. Its sad though...how much they prioritise on what they need today (fancy gadget, clothes..etc..) over their child's need for future and proper education. Its not like they don't know, just some of them have no discipline to start and dedicated to save their money.

I did a rough calculation, if you save RM50 for a child in a month from he/she is born, without fail and never once withdraw the money, by the end of 18th year, estimated total amount of saving would be ~RM16,000. That is as much as what PTPTN loan for Diploma level student. (Am not even considering an oversea degree here). So the bare minimum a parent should do is at least be prepared to provide some kind of fund for the kids education.

This is all assuming a well balanced family, with both parents present. What happened when one is absent (divorced,died,sick...etc). Is another parent prepared for these kind of situation? Worth pondering....you think?

Qudwah Hasanah

It means a good example.

I watched the repeat for BET 2009 Awards last night, and was make known that the organisers have to change the format last minute in order to pay tribute to late MJ. What kind of impact does a person leave, to have such a magnitude of tribute after his death. It is undeniable that MJ has been a legendary icon. Although the later part of his life were filled with controversy with all the courts hearing and many more issues, he is still much respected and adored.

I remember when I was small, my mom used to say that I would dance along his 'Beat It','Billie Jean' and even 'Bad' records. I couldn't even understand a single word and yet was a hardcore fan. As I was growing up, he produces more songs with message, Earth Song, Black or White, Heal the World and many more to mention here.

He is a person that has dedicated his life to entertain, and was gifted to touch many other peoples life. Whether or not he is a Muslim, Allah knows best, but all his good deeds has impacted many people. Even his songs are legendary and will last forever (I think).

This is one of my favourite song and message was deep. In other words, to make yourself a qudwah hasanah, it starts with the Man in The Mirror. RIP MJ.

Now They Know...

It's been on the news (CNN) for the past few days. Its about the 2 lady journalist that faced 12 years jail time with hard work in North Korea for illegally entering the country's border. Little did I know that one of the ladies is Lisa Ling's sister. Lisa is Oprah's correspondence in her show.

It was potrayed quite oftenly in movies, mass media and any other medium that Americans thought they could get away with anything. By claiming that they are Americans!!!
Numerous comments that came in after the news said that the ladies were asking for it. Truly agree. Not all nations are due to bow to America and its foreign policy and North Korea is not one of it.

Well I think its a good lessons to people in general to respect other countries and their boundaries. Its fair that they are being jailed for tresspassing. NK does not have the open door policy as US and even then US are so paranoid of Muslim guys having beard, have some sort of Muhammad or Ahmad in their name. The moment you fit the profile, surely you will never get entrance visa to the country, let alone do anything associated with US of the A.

Americans have long way to go in terms of respecting others, and looking at the population, White House has to have some kind of Masterplan to ensure its citizen understood and respect other countries boundary.

Few things;

1. Hate that KJ beats Mukhriz in last pemilihan UMNO, but on the hindsight Mukhriz made it to the new cabinet. Yaayy!!!

2. MU lost to Everton for FA Cup semi finals and Chelsea beat Arsenal to make it to the finals. I am rooting for Everton and hope they will create upset for Chelsea.

3. I screw my world cup ticket booking by entering the wrong expiry date for my credit card. How did I know? well, my CC provider called me yesterday and asked whether or not have I tried using it online to purchase WC tickets? I said yes...and they said that it was rejected due to my error...Damn it, I could have gotten the tickets by now. So now I have to wait till 3rd May and re-place the booking and have to keep on telling myself over and over again not to repeat the same mistake!!!

4. Taking bullet for things at work that I have done but not recognised. Managers just don't read mails and for that I am penalised. Hate it but moving on.

5. Matt Giraud in Top 5!!! and Kris Allen is as good as ever ;)

6. Last but not least 'Happy Birthday Kak Ju!!!' My niece turn 4 today!!! am going back KL and planning to celebrate over the weekend.

Can he? or Will he?

The world is as if rejoicing. The fact that the newly elect President of USA is none other than Barack Obama. The inauguration was highly publicised. There is even line up of celebrities that performed during the ceremony. They also have after parties. Most of the major TV networks aired the ceremony live for the rest of the world to see and witness.

Is it real? Is it true that he will bring change to US politics atmosphere?What about US foreign policy? will they stop labelling Muslim as terrorist? Will they stop funding the war in Gaza? Will they be able to restore the downfall of world economy?

Questions and more questions....

Truly, I have my doubts, the war in Gaza for one thing. His cabinet line up is headed by an Israel by blood. And the fact that there has been continuous and strong support from the states to Isreal will not be impeded just by mere fact a non-Bush rules the government.

I am not an optimist, at least not how the world would be with America as the main power.

We'll see how it goes. I don't think there are many fingers crossed when it comes to Middle East conflict. The only way we can see some change is when the OIC act on it, else, it would be status quo.

Of Humanism

There has been to many mails received on Israel nonstop attack and the inhumane massacre in Gaza. I received this mail forwarded by a good friend to spread the words and urge people to boycott some products that are known to be funding the Zionist. They are cooperations like Starbucks and McD to name a few.

I guess its time we Muslims do something, its not much but at least something. So I decided to forward the message to fellow Muslims, in hope that we are in this together...here are some reply that I received;

"thank you for the reminder... good call especially with the current scenario in the Gaza. " - a Sr. Manager

"Yeah, seems like we should also throw our laptops out.... Actually surprised that the website didn't mention Cisco.."- an IT freak guy

"There is Burger King, Ramli burger, Carl's Jr, Wendy's, A&W, KFC, pizza hut .... :)" - a good fren of mine

"Boycotting products sold in our country means decreeing a death sentence to our own people.
A point in case was a friend of mine who invested his whole life savings in chicken rearing.When we boycott KFC, the company did not wind up, but my friend had no way disposing his chickens but to burn them ......................
Be careful of what you wish, for it might just come true.

Well, he does make sense, but it all boils down to choices..Instead of hanging out at Starbucks, why don't you try Old Town? I know the variants in Starbucks are much more better, but for a pro-Zionist cooperation, they are making millions from sales daily. Would you rest well knowing that part of your money is funding the massive killing in Gaza?

I am for sure starting my own pledge against Starbucks, for which clearly stated in their website that they fully support the Zionist. The rest like McD, Kotex and many other household names, will slowly work on that..

So NO to Zionist killing Palestinians, or any other killing that is by no means demeaning the human value itself.
