You Better Slow Down

Its been a while since I last shared a poem. This one has been with me since 2005. I printed and pasted on my workstation, even from the old workplace till here.

You Better Slow Down. - author unknown

Have you ever watched kids on a merry go round
or listened to the rain lapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight
or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You better slow down, don't dance so fast
Time is short, the music won't last

Do you run through each day on the fly?
When you asked "How are you?"
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done,
Do you lie in your bed,
With the next hundred chores,
Running through your head?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast
Time is short
The music won't last

Ever told a child
We'll do it tomorrow
And in your haste, not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch,
Let a good frienship die
'Cause you never had time
to call and say "Hi"
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast
Time is short
The music won't last

When you run so fast to get somewhere,
You miss half the fun of getting there,
When you worry and hurry through your day,
Its like an unopened gift...
Thrown away...
Life is not a race,
Do take it slower,
Hear the music,
Before the song is over..

The Final Analysis

Its been quite some time since I share a poem here. Again credit goes to Asma for this, actually sent from her father...

Quote"
My dearest children,Below is a very inspiring and uplifting poem by Wayne W. Dyer, which is a version of the Paradoxical Commandments by Kent M Keith. Mr Dyer’s version below was read, and given to me by Professor Niren Vyas, a very kind and devoted Hindu, as well as a very able economist and teacher, now at Ahlia University, Bahrain, when I had the good pleasure of meeting him and his colleagues there 1-2 July. It has uplifted my spirit and hope it will do the same to you all, always. You may want to share it with your friends, but please do mention where I got this precious pearls from….Dad.

The Final Analysis
People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered:Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone may destroy overnight;Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;Be happy anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis, it is all between you and God;
It was never between you and them anyway.

(Wayne W. Dyer).

Work and Wednesday poem

Work have been hectic and with preparation for Reunion still not getting anywhere, I am a bit drain. But not to the point of breaking up yet.

A fren forwarded a poem by her fav poet to get me through the day..compliments to Asma;

The Guest House

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
Some momentary awareness comes
As an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they're a crowd of sorrows,
Who violently sweep your house
Empty of its furniture,
Still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
For some new delight.

- Rumi
