Life is a Long Series of Drama...

Its been a while that I started following on new drama series, probably because not many new ones that makes it our way. Am right now watching 'Mercy'. Saw the ad like one month ago and quickly intrigued to watch it. This is yet another medical drama. Come to think of it, there are too many of them. I used to (still am) crazy over ER, well, because of them I know how they detect internal bleeding from an uninjured body ;) Then there is Greys' Anatomy, which there has never been one single episode that I did not shead a tear.

Not just medical drama, law and police kinda drama also flood the small screen. When that happens, what else can compliment that? CSI type would do. Used to be only the original Crime Scene Investigation that dominates the screen, but now we have NCIS, Criminal Minds, Without a Trace, etc..etc..

I used to say to my bos, they have all kind of professions turned to drama, but have we ever watched one about engineers? Not talking bout software engineer but the core 4 mainstream engineering; Civil,Electrical,Mechanical and Chemical. A full season, maybe 13 or 26 episode? Well, there is one that came close to that, Micheal Scofield of Prison Break was a Civil Engineer and the knowledge that was applied to escape the prison was damn superb!!

Well, my bos respond was that all of these profession that gets to be in drama actually pays so bad, that they have to create more ways for people to be interested to actually do the job (sort of like promoting the profession via drama). Well, that is one way to look at it, although am not sure whether that is entirely true (doctors and lawyers gets good pay though, later in their career).

I think its maybe that the job is too demanding and interesting at the same time, and it pays to show public to what extend did they go in their line of duty. Most of the stories, although its just a fiction, worth sharing and educational at some point. And maybe the public would appreciate more (we always hear about people complaining about doctors' services in govt hosp, or how bad the police at catching the ever increasing snatch thieves). I know things could be better , if we compared what we see on TV (mostly American drama by the way) to what we actually experience live in our daily life, but I guess on some part the job dilemma is pretty much the same.

So what do I think about Mercy? Well, it maybe not the most medically educational drama, the content maybe 30%, or 40% top contains medical facts, the rest is just plain drama with all emotions wrapped up. The most action pack medical drama to me is still ER. Will I still watch it? Of course ;) Mostly for the drama..hehehe....

p/s: dieya, any TV series about a bunch of accountants? just wondering...

I Watched Kris Allen LIVE!!!!

Warning : This post is more 'keduniaan' than ever..hahaha...donia..donia....

One more reason I was happy on Sunday is that I got this text saying that I won the Kris Allen showcase (on Monday night) ticks. Although at that point of time, I was still unsure about whether or not the sms is fraud or not, I still could not help to feel super duper excited. Since I worked over the weekend, workload are little bit less on Monday. So I asked for half day leave.

I went to MV hoping to get in line for the autograph session and yes I did, no 131 out of 200 (well actually more than 200 as they keep on adding more people later. Waited in line for like 3 hours (I did sneak in and out in between). Obviously I am among the old ones, there is a few aunties, which stay in the line for their kids, and there were even school kids with school uniform waiting there....

The autograph session went very quick, we're not even allowed to take pictures, or chose which inlay for Kris to sign, all must be done on the front part. The bodyguards were strict though, we can only shake hands, but some girls walk away giving Kris a hug ;) not me though... (nak mampus? hahaha)

The end results, a signed copy of Live Like We're Dying

So I went to the Gardens to collect my showcase tickets at around 6.45 pm, though at that time still unsure whether I have been duped or not. At last, got my pass!!!

Went in at around 8pm, people were running in and the astrolife passes allows me to go right in front of the stage. Kris only came out at 9pm. The show was superb, although I wish that he sang more of the Idol songs, but what the heck, he was good irregardless what song he sings. Crowd was crazy, although not as energetic (if compared to a rock concert). I must say the band was reeaalllyyy good. Am at the very front, and the stage for Kris was made potruded from the main stage. So I can only get his backside most of the time. But since the guitarist was good looking as well, I didn't mind looking straight ahead ;p

This is the good looking guitarist, kinda look like Det. Flack a bit..hahaha....

Since I got two passes, and a friend could not join me last minute, I gave the other to this guy, Nate who happens to stand in line before me during the autograph session.
It was really tiring as I was either standing or walking from 3 pm till 11 pm. That is whole 8 hrs!!! I went back sore all over. I said am only going to do this again if and only if either Kris Allen or Linkin Park coming, maybe can squeeze in BSB (if at all they come). But probably will be looking for more like Micheal Buble kinda performance.

Ain't Life Interesting?

Wanted to update this but ran out of ideas. Currently watching the AI Denver Audition and suddenly it hits me!!! My sis text me earlier and told me Kris Allen is coming to KL!!!! Day : 8th Feb (freaking working day) , and I am in the middle of unit shutdown now, and no chance of even going back this weekend. Also, to make matters worst, the performance tickets are not up for sale. It has to be won via some radio contest, lucky SMS through...I was never that lucky.

So to cut story short, I cannot see Kris Allen this time around ;( He will have paid performance in Singapore on the 10th, and on any day I will buy the tickets in a heartbeat, but not this time. I'll have to be here, in PD, working!!!

And that is not the best part, ready.....? I am working on the freaking Chinese New Year weekend, not kidding, plant start up being brought forward to capture the high margin. And in this volatile market condition, who am I to say no? I have to cancel my Penang trip with the girls, which is such a bummer...

So February this year is definitely not my fav month, ain't life interesting?

Once in the blue moon

I watched this VCD last night, With Love ( a Japanese Drama series) and continued this morning. I have watched it more than 10 times I think ;) Nostalgia gila tengok cerita ni...what are the memories?

This is the first VCD Series that I bought after I had my first PC in 2002. I fell in love with the actor immediately Yutaka Takenouchi. This is the story about relationship in cyberspace, background Tokyo, 1998. The guy (pencipta lagu) accidentally sent a piece of his song to this girl. The girl loves that song and later they keep on communicating via mail. Both uses nickname and unknowingly they were quite close to each other in real life. Along the line, both seems to be having the same dilemma, be it about money, being victimised or many other daily challenges and both exchange words of wisdoms via mail.
From this series I also learnt the cute icons such as p(^o^)q this is to express 'gambaro'..which means 'berusahalah'... I have it written on all my textbook (*o*) V

I know its cliche and those type of story only happened in movies but I loike the series so much. The funny part is I bought the series in Kota Raya KL. The basement used to have this one shop that sold Japanese and Korean drama series at good bargain. Went back to Shah Alam, watched the whole series overnight only to realise that the store packed me short of ONE VCD, the last one...how can!!! In order to get my ending, after class that day I took bus to Kota Raya (2hrs ++ ride) and claimed the VCD from the store. They acknowledge it was their mistake. I quickly rushed back to Shah Alam and finally finished watching the series, close 24 hrs after I bought it. One of the things that I do back then.
After that I was head over heels with Yutaka that I keep on buying his drama series, although I don't have all but I have the one movie he did with Kelly Chen, Calmi Couri Appasionati - background in Italy. See, I was that much in love with him....
So just to reminisce the old fling, here are some of his pics (not latest though..)
(this one actually looks like Farid Kamil....but naaahhh...he can never top Yutaka-san ;p)

I like him in all the looks, totally went crazy over this guy (I think I still am..hehehe...) I mean who wouldn't fall for that sometimes badboy, sometimes very deep thinker and sometimes just plain sweet and cute look, am sure I did ;)
btw: once in the blue moon is the song that HAsegawa TAkashi accidentally sent to Teru Teru Bozu.

May Allah Bless You

This is the second time I am writing obituary this year, within less than 1 month period. It is true, death can come knocking your door anytime, anyplace, anyhow.

She is a very well respected filmmaker. Her artpiece moved people, shows the unity among us, Malaysian. She was the pioneer on the new age movie making and although I have heard rumours (i.e doutbfull news) about her, she is the one that earns my respect compared to other Malay filmmakers.

Hope her movies will still be remembered as it is not just mere movies for entertainment, she educates her viewers as well. And for that long live education via film by Allahyarhammah Yasmin Ahmad. May you'll be accorded a place in Jannah, rest in peace and may Allah bless you. Al-Fatihah.

Qudwah Hasanah

It means a good example.

I watched the repeat for BET 2009 Awards last night, and was make known that the organisers have to change the format last minute in order to pay tribute to late MJ. What kind of impact does a person leave, to have such a magnitude of tribute after his death. It is undeniable that MJ has been a legendary icon. Although the later part of his life were filled with controversy with all the courts hearing and many more issues, he is still much respected and adored.

I remember when I was small, my mom used to say that I would dance along his 'Beat It','Billie Jean' and even 'Bad' records. I couldn't even understand a single word and yet was a hardcore fan. As I was growing up, he produces more songs with message, Earth Song, Black or White, Heal the World and many more to mention here.

He is a person that has dedicated his life to entertain, and was gifted to touch many other peoples life. Whether or not he is a Muslim, Allah knows best, but all his good deeds has impacted many people. Even his songs are legendary and will last forever (I think).

This is one of my favourite song and message was deep. In other words, to make yourself a qudwah hasanah, it starts with the Man in The Mirror. RIP MJ.

p/s: hope they did not remove the clip yet.

Few things;

1. Hate that KJ beats Mukhriz in last pemilihan UMNO, but on the hindsight Mukhriz made it to the new cabinet. Yaayy!!!

2. MU lost to Everton for FA Cup semi finals and Chelsea beat Arsenal to make it to the finals. I am rooting for Everton and hope they will create upset for Chelsea.

3. I screw my world cup ticket booking by entering the wrong expiry date for my credit card. How did I know? well, my CC provider called me yesterday and asked whether or not have I tried using it online to purchase WC tickets? I said yes...and they said that it was rejected due to my error...Damn it, I could have gotten the tickets by now. So now I have to wait till 3rd May and re-place the booking and have to keep on telling myself over and over again not to repeat the same mistake!!!

4. Taking bullet for things at work that I have done but not recognised. Managers just don't read mails and for that I am penalised. Hate it but moving on.

5. Matt Giraud in Top 5!!! and Kris Allen is as good as ever ;)

6. Last but not least 'Happy Birthday Kak Ju!!!' My niece turn 4 today!!! am going back KL and planning to celebrate over the weekend.

--No long post on how the world are and things that I can do to make the world a better place.

Expectations, lots of them

Things that keeps us moving, expectation. You would not work very hard, if you know there is no future in your job. Or you wouldn't pursue somebody that did not meet your expectations right?

Well, people expects a lot from me, at least at work. I was away for quite some time, did not really attend to my day to day task and people expect me to solve all the problems the moment I swipe my pass in first thing this morning. Am taking it one thing at a time. Its just hard and I have to suck it. But since I had this clip below, my mood can never be destroyed :)

There are two of my favorites in it, Kris Allen (of course) and also Matt Giraud :)

Back on expectation, I actually expects a lot from people, not profesionally but more of personal level. I was on course last week, with a colleague. Well, we were in a place where most of the things are foreign to us, be it the food, way people talk, and a bunch of other stuffs. And this person just keep on complaining on every single thing. I seriously don't like whiners, BIG time!! Okay the first two days I put up with all the complaints but I got really wear down on third day.

I expect people to be a little bit more persistent to changes, and not to dwell on the small little petty things. Complainers, out of my way!!! I need more positive vibes around me. Not saying that you have to be optimistic all the time, because sometime it just doesn't make sense, but be reasonable. Don't complain unless it is rightly to do so. And instead of just complaining, why not do something about it.

How about that for a change?

AI S8

This post would be more of 'keduniaan' --> 'wordly'. I am loving American Idol!!! I have been following quite religiously since the audition and for this season I think the guys rock!!! As I am typing, still listening over and over again to Kris Allen's Man in the Mirror. I think he's the underdog. No bet that there are others like Goakey, Lambert and Matt Giuradi. Man, they really can work the stage.

Not to mentioned, there is this one guy Von Smith, he crumbles to pressure during wildcard show, but I still like him. The girls are so-so this time around. But I must admit, they are all good ;) I am so loving it!!!

Cinema Week!!

Last week was my cinema week!! I watched 3 movies in cinema.
  1. The Day The Earth Stood Still - Thursday
  2. Cicakman 2 - Saturday
  3. Los Dan Faun - also Saturday :)
I must be crazy or something to have done it in one week..hehehe.... well its actually something that I do on quarter yearly basis ;p

The first one is so-so..typical pre apocalypse kinda a thing. Girls watched because of Keanu Revees and guys watched it because of Jennifer Connelly. But does carry a good message, that the human beings are destroying the earth and should be all exterminated...

Second and third is of course due to my strong support of the local film industry. I know that the KRU brothers are good artist and expect good results from them as well. They did not dissappoint me :) Highly recommended!!!

Afdlin Shauki is another director that gets my highest respect when it comes to comedy...my sister and I was laughing like mad throughout the movie. Also highly recommended :)

Malaysian Artiste for Unity

Love the video, ala-ala bodoh2 kelakar gitu. But with good message of course. The ensemble however seems to belong to only one group. Harmony as they may seem, whatever project they come up with, definitely some of the groups got invited too. Sh. Amani-Yasmin-Choo Seong? Afdlin-Awie-Ida Nerina?, Nikki-Ning?

But then again, I am not complaining, they are the talented lots and I enjoyed the video :) So you enjoy too!!

First video posting.. I made it yeah!! although it took like 20 mins to upload the clip ;)
